Hurricane Hitting Southeast US by July 18th

Update 7-10-2017

As predicted, the NHC has now picked up on this wave coming off of Africa. The GFS still calls for a strong storm to be somewhere near the Southeast US on or around July 18-20th period. At this time it is predicted to be in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico, and from there is anyone’s guess. It has also over the past few days shown some tracks that take it off the east coast of Florida and curve it towards the Carolinas.

In any case, it is something to watch over the coming week.

A Monster Storm could be headed towards the Southeast US in the next coming weeks. According to the GFS model tracks, a monster storm will slam into the Gulf coast after narrowly missing South Florida. The predicted pressure is set to 968 mbar as it hits the Gulf Coast. It is predicted to hit on or around Friday July 21st.

The Global Forecast System is a global numerical computer model run by NOAA. This mathematical model is run four times a day. It is one of the main models used to predict hurricanes used by meteorologists worldwide.
